8-3 vote on net neutrality resolution

The future of the information highway, also known as the internet, could hit a roadblock.

Thursday the Caddo Parish Commission voted to oppose the Federal Communication Commission’s rollbacks to net neutrality.

Net neutrality prevents providers from blocking, slowing down or charging more for websites and streaming services.

Commissioners voted eight to three on the resolution.  It urges the Louisiana Congressional Delegation to support net neutrality.
