Some endured the tough road conditions, while others stayed home to enjoy the snow day, Tuesday, we received between one to three inches of snow and for a lot of people this means a stay at home snow day.
With a city wide snow day in Shreveport , a mother and daughter duo take advantage of their day off.
Kimberly Green, a mother says, “we are going to have a snow fight, so I just have to be on guard with the children to let her know I can still run and that I can still through a snow ball.”
They say this winter surprise was something unexpected.
” I did expect it but not this much I was overwhelmed when I came to the door to see my husband Joe out to Landers and I was like wow it really snowed a lot its actually sticking so im excited about that.”
Jade Green, a Caddo Middle Magnet student says, “Im surprised it stuck on because we have a lot of ice sickles all over the house and the truck is covered in snow and it was ice down and everything.
Tuesday’s white out shut down schools and roads in the area.
But middle schooler … Jade green … Says this is not her first time in the snow.
“This would be my second snow day and the first snow I had was in pre-k and we really didn’t have a lot snow it was like patches everywhere you now but now its like a lot of snow.”
This driver agrees.
Josh Schenck, says, “This is quit significant compared to what it normally does around here, we haven’t had something like this in a while.”
He says if you think this is bad just wait till Wednesday.
“Now that it’s melting on the roads a little bit and everything tonights gone be the worse part because it’s gone get cold again and it’s going to freeze so today is only half of it, tomorrow is going to be a lot worse.”
Plenty of kids around the ArkLaTex are going to get a chance to play in the snow once again tomorrow, as some schools systems have already canceled classes.
