The Arkansas man charged in the beating of an African American man at the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville earlier this year was extradited Thursday morning from the Lonoke County jail to Virginia.

Sheriff John Staley confirmed the extradition.

Charlottesville police said Jacob Scott Goodwin is part of a white supremacists group accused of beating 20-year-old DeAndre Harris in a parking lot next to the police department during the ‘Unite the Right’ rally.

Authorities say Goodwin, of Ward, AR, is charged with malicious wounding in the beating of Harris.

Lonoke County has been holding Goodwin since Oct. 10 when he was arrested at his parents house.
