SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) Shreveport police have charged a suspect in connection with a man found dead earlier this month in southwest Shreveport.
Sha’Cortez Monroe, 22, was arrested this afternoon and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Cartell D. Willis, according to SPD Cpl. Marcus Hines.
Willis was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the driveway of a home in the 3000 block of Hoyte Drive in the South Park neighborhood just before 3:30 a.m. on April 11. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to SPD, Monroe was taken into custody with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Office Fugitive Task Force at the Cooper Road Plaza Apartments on Peach Street Monday afternoon.
Three others were also taken into custody at the apartment complex at the time of Monroe’s arrest. 27-year-old Haston Smith, 27-year-old Antravion Johnson, and 25-year-old Tramerciea Ruffins each face charges of possession of schedule I and possession of schedule II with intent to distribute.
