East Texas investigators are trying to track down an armed and dangerous suspect who robbed an employee at gunpoint.
The armed robbery happened back on June 19 at the Russell Cellular/Verizon store in the 1000 block of S. Jefferson St. in Mount Pleasant.
Detectives said the suspect, 30-year-old Chaddrick Tremaine Johnson, entered the business posing as a customer.
Johnson asked for a product which required the employee to a back storage room.
Johnson is accused of following the store employee to the back room, pulling out a gun and then demanding that the employee open the store safe.
After the safe was opened, Johnson allegedly bound the victim with zip ties and stole money and cellular products.
Mount Pleasant Police Criminal Investigations Unit put out a Facebook post about the robbery and received information that other robberies matching this suspect had been committed in DFW metroplex cities of Rowlett, Duncanville, and Farmers Branch.
Johnson is described as a black male, standing 5’8” tall, weighing 180 lbs. with front gold teeth, and may be partially or completely bald and with and without facial hair.
Johnson was last known to be driving a 1995 beige or silver Mercury Grand Marquis with a paper tag with the tag number being 649590F.
Johnson has a Mount Pleasant outstanding felony arrest warrant for Aggravated Robbery and has several other felony arrest warrants, including Aggravated Robbery from Farmers Branch.
Johnson has known ties with Mount Pleasant, Sulphur Springs, and the DFW metro area.
