BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – More than 500 Barksdale airmen returned home from a training mission near London Thursday evening.
The Bomber Task Force consisting of bombers from 2nd Bomb Wing was deployed to the U.S. European Command area of operations. The deployment focused on interoperability training with the British Royal Air Force as well as other allies and partners in the region.
The four-week trip was the largest B-52 deployment since Desert Storm.
“It’s absolutely awesome to see them come home,” said Colonel Mike Miller. “The job they did over there was absolutely phenomenal. They really showed America firepower in our enemy’s backyard.”
