The Bossier Parish School Board voted 7-3 to implement a new policy on religious expression and activities on campus.

Bossier Parish Schools and Superintendent, Scott Smith, are currently facing a lawsuit from students over religious expression in school.

The school board reached out to other school district to see what their policies were and worked with an attorney to make sure the language was to the letter of the law.

Bossier Parish Schools hopes to train teachers about the new policy before the end of the school year.

William “Bill” Lott, Dennis Bamburg, Jr., and Michael S. Mosura II voted no against the policy.

Brad L. Bockhaus and Eric Newman were absent.
