A local business is at the center of what the owners believe to be the most dangerous intersection in downtown Shreveport. They’re speaking out after an accident claims the life of a pedestrian in front of their business over the weekend.
The intersection is at the corner of Texas and Spring street, next to the Blind Tiger Restaurant.
The speed limit on Spring street is 25 miles per hour. The owners of Blind Tiger often use a radar gun to check the speed of motorists. While we were out Tuesday afternoon, many of the drivers were going nearly 40 miles an hour.
Some believe a protected left arrow at the light on Spring would also prevent accidents.
Back in July a car crashed into the front door of the restaurant. According to Lisa Potvin, since then there have been three more accidents.
According to the Shreveport police department there have been a total of 17 accidents at this intersection since January 2016.
