Busy weekend for the Shreveport/Bossier Knights

BOSSIER CITY, La – (KTAL/KMSS) The Shreveport Bossier Knights are gearing up for a big weekend.  The semi professional sports organization will host a series of games this weekend.

The games kick off Friday with a womens and mens exhibition basketball game.  It Starts at 6 pm at Bossier High School.

The teams they’ll be competing against traveled 18 hours from central Mexico to play.

Ana Portillo says, “We’re really excited.  It’s a huge opportunity to be here and we’ve been practicing a lot so we’re really happy to be here.”

Captain Shreve’s State Championship girl’s basketball team will be recognized during the womens game.  The VP of the Shreveport Bossier Knights, Henry Pouncy is ensuring that the proceeds from the game will benefit the family of Bossier High School basketball player Kaalas Roots.

“To go out in the community and try to help Shreveport/Bossier areas be a better place.”    

The Shreveport Bossier Knights football team will be playing Saturday at 4 pm at Lee Hedges Stadium.

Tickets are $5 for presale. $8 at the door, kids 9 and under get in free and kids with a student ID only pay $1.
