Caddo grand jury hands down two 2nd Degree Murder indictments

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Caddo Parish grand jury today returned two murder indictments.

Austin Wade Boyd, 26, and 27-year-old Trimnell Darrel O’Neal each will face a 2nd Degree Murder charge.

O’Neal is charged in connection with the September 24, 2018 slaying of Johnny Thomas. Thomas, 29, was shot following an argument in the 1700 block of Pointe Coupee Drive in the Agurs district.

Boyd is charged in the October 12, 2018 death of 28-year-old Bernard Sollers outside a residence in the 4600 block of North Lakeshore Drive. Sollers was stabbed several times when an argument between the two men turned violent.

If convicted, each of the men charged faces life in prison without benefit of parole, probation or reduction of sentence.
