Capital Gazette shooting suspect charged with first-degree murder

A man who had once filed a defamation suit against the Capital Gazette newspaper is accused of opening fire into the newsroom and killing five people Thursday.

Jarrod Warren Ramos, the suspect in what police called a “targeted attack” on the Annapolis, Maryland, newspaper, has been charged with five counts of first-degree murder, according to court records.

Ramos, 38, is scheduled to have a bail hearing at Friday morning in Annapolis.
