CDW E-sports tournament underway

A sport that’s gaining popularity around the world touches down in Bossier City.

Several teams are competing in the CDW E-Sports Tournament at the Defenders of Liberty Air Show. E-Sports is a competitive multi-player video game.

Visitors can watch collegiate, high school and military teams of three compete against one another in the game Rocket League
“It’s really exploding at the high school level, grassroots level, and the collegiate level,” said Marvis Manning.
“This is the first real major exhibition in Louisiana, so the LHSAA has actually sanctioned E-sports as an athletic program for the states. So there will be a state championship in E-sports,” said Joe McCallister.
The tournament is presented by Legacy Sports and ASUS. Teams are competing tomorrow from 10 am to 3 pm.
