Over a dozen members of the First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas headed to Houston early this morning.
The group piled three trailer loads full of supplies including water, diapers, dog food, and items to help clean up devastated homes.
The church is partnering with Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston to help those in need. Many volunteers plan to stay through Saturday to help out.
Pastor Jeff Schreve said God is sending a message with the storms we’re experiencing. He said, “God doesn’t get our attention very well when he blesses us, he gets our attention better when disaster comes because then we look up. And, I think the Lord is coming back soon and all that we’re seeing in our world today is a message that the Lord is saying you need to get your heart right with Me because the hour of my return is approaching.”
The church plans to return with more supplies in the coming weeks.
