The City of Shreveport is helping locals join the workforce and find employment. People looking for a job filled the Shreveport convention center today.
This is the second job fair hosted by the City of Shreveport this year.
Several hundred applicants showed up dressed to impress with resumes in hand. 20 different companies and several city departments were hoping to hire new employees.
Briana Richmond who was at the job fair says,”I think this is an awesome opportunity to be able to reach out into the community and give back. So many people try and give people hand outs, but this is a hand up, so that people can advance in their lives further.”
Some companies looking to fill jobs: Hyundai Glovis, Christus Health and General Dynamic Information Technology.
Teleperformance was looking to fill more than 300 positions.
