Cleanup efforts continue in Mexico Beach, FL

Local

Cleanup and recovery efforts continue in Mexico Beach, Florida, the town that was devastated by Hurricane Michael.

Some of the town’s 12-hundred full-time residents are trickling back in, only to discover that an estimated 95-percent of the one-thousand or so buildings are destroyed or uninhabitable.

Statewide, more than 100-thousand Florida customers are still without power, with the majority of those in Bay County where Mexico Beach sits and where the hurricane made landfall.

Relief supplies are pouring in from across the country, and feeding stations are set up at various locations around the county.
