Co-founder of Julie Ann’s Bakery & Cafe dies

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) The co-founder of one of Shreveport’s most popular bakeries has died.

Julie Anne Nelson, 76, co-founder in 1992 of Julie Anne’s Bakery & Cafe in Shreveport passed away April 18, 2019 from complications of Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy (CAA), a rare brain disease.  

Nelson donated her remains to the LSU School of Medicine Anatomical Board in the hope of helping finding a cure for CAA.  

A celebration of life ceremony will be announced later.
