The Caddo Parish Commission is suggesting handing out yard signs to remind people to protect their belongings.
“There’s always a what can we do better,” questioned District 10 Commissioner Mario Chavez. “Then there’s always the we’re not doing anything at all.”
The commission will send their plans to the long range planning committee for their final decision. It details giving each commissioner 50 signs that they will pass out in their respective districts, which will cost them a total of $3,000.
One commissioner says the money could be put elsewhere.
“If you look at the crime that we’ve had, the senseless killings,” said District 2 commissioner Lyndon Johnson. “Just to say we’re addressing the breaking into cars but not the killings… that sends the wrong message.”
