Neighborhoods across the ArkLaTex are making plans to celebrate National Night Out 2018.

On Tuesday, October 2 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. residents across Texarkana, Arkansas will be turning their lights on and getting together with friends and neighbors for the “35th Annual National Night Out.”

The event has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable way to promote “neighborhood spirit” and “community partnerships”.

National Night Out, a year-long community building campaign, is designed to:

  • Heighten crime prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships;
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Representatives from the Police Department, Fire Department, and City Hall will start visiting neighborhoods at 6 p.m.  They will also be available for questions and you can share your concerns about police services in your neighborhood.

If you are interested in participating in National Night Out call and register your party at 903-798-3187 or by email at kbennett@txkusa.org
