A Shreveport community remains divided over the renaming of a high school’s auditorium.
Thursday night newly elected Caddo Parish School Board member, Lloyd Thompson held a community meeting.
A proposal was made to name Booker T. Washington High School’s auditorium after Civil Rights leader Dr. Harry Blake, but many graduates of BTW are opposed to the idea.
Thompson says, “We’ll go home and pray about it and make the best decision that’s gonna affect your community.”
The board is expected to make a decision on the naming of the auditorium at its next meeting on Tuesday, January 15th.
