Coroner identifies Vivian woman who died in fatal crash Wednesday morning

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) The Caddo Parish Coroner has identified the Vivian woman who died after a log truck pulled out in front of her SUV this morning in north Caddo Parish.

Morgan Chiles, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision that happened around 7:45 a.m. today on Mira Myrtis Road in Rodessa.

According to Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, Chiles was driving a Ford Explorer eastbound when a log truck and trailer turned off Hosston Rodessa Road in front of her vehicle atop a hill. 
Chiles’ SUV struck the back of the trailer.

The woman died at the scene. Her two passengers, ages 9 and 5, were taken to Ochsner LSU Health with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the log truck is identified as 44-year-old Dezmon Love, of Bivens, Texas. 

Love was issued a traffic citation for violation of LA RS 32:124 (vehicle entering the highway from private road, alley, driveway, or building.) 

The crash remains under investigation.
