It’s going to take the whole town to get everything back on track, according to one local mayor.
“We need to get together and have serious cleansing in this community,” said Cotton Valley mayor Joseph Alexander. “That’s all I’m for is this town, Cotton Valley. That’s all I’m for. We’re going to make it work.”
Alexander was recently arrested for allegedly misusing town funds. On Tuesday night, he faced the music in front of his constituents and an alderman who has a passion for making Cotton Valley a better place.
“When you’re accused of doing something wrong, sure you’re innocent until proven guilty,” said Charlene Lewis, a longtime alderman in the town. “But, let’s not be attacking people. I was the first one attacked because I spoke to the media.”
