In Bowie County, New Boston city council members will discuss whether to fire the city secretary. Councilmen say Darla Faulknor’s employment is in question for refusing to allow the council to review the former police chief’s personnel file. Former police Chief Tony King was fired just last week for lack of confidence.

“Until the underlying issues are rooted out and dealt with it will never end. So it will get worse before it gets better, but I think it’s to the point that it will get better if the city secretary is terminated tonight, ” said Joe Dike, councilman.

If Faulkner is removed the council will appoint an interim secretary.
