An Arkansas couple who allegedly stole an SUV were arrested outside of a local business.
Texarkana Texas Police arrested 25-year-old Earl-Barnabas Coleman and 26-year-old Ashley Wiggens, both of Little Rock, after they were found in a stolen vehicle at the Roadrunner convenience store in the 4100 block of N. Kings Hwy.
A call was received from OnStar at 2:30 Tuesday morning reporting that a stolen white 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe was being tracked and was currently stopped at the convenience store.
OnStar indicated that they were going to disable the vehicle while it was stopped.
Officers located the vehicle at the gas pumps as Coleman was attempting to start it to leave. They contacted Coleman, who told them that a person who he only knew by a first name offered to loan him the vehicle to travel to Dallas.
Coleman was later arrested for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle after the officers confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Little Rock.
Officers also learned that Wiggens, who was a passenger in the vehicle, used a credit card she found inside the vehicle to purchase food and drinks at the store.
The card belonged to the owner of the vehicle. Wiggens was arrested for Credit Card Abuse.
Both were transported to the Bi-State Jail. Coleman’s bond was set at $10,000 and Wiggens’ bond was set at $15,000.
