Texarkana, Arkansas board members approve the replacement of a failing timber bridge that provides access to several homes.
A timber bridge on Rocky Creek Road is decaying and needs to be replaced. It’s been in use for nearly 40 years. The project is expected to cost more than $65,000. It will be paid for with drainage improvement funds.
“It’s very typical to see this in a timber bridge of this age. They typically don’t last. They typically last about 25-years. so it’s time to be replaced,”Tyler Richards, Public Works Director.Work will begin on the bridge in about six weeks and will last nearly five days.
