Louisiana Senator John Kennedy Tuesday met with Academy Award winning Actor and Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Spokesperson Denzel Washington.
“Today I had the opportunity to discuss the great work of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America with one of my favorite actors, Denzel Washington.”
Kennedy said during the visit, he and Washington discussed the impact the Boys and Girls Club of America, is making in young people’s lives every day.
“The Boys and Girls Clubs of Louisiana serve more than 24,000 kids, and help empower them to reach their full potential as responsible and caring citizens.” Kennedy said.
While in D.C. Washington is expected to attend the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington’s National Youth of the Year Celebration Tuesday night.
The Shreveport branch of the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club is gearing up for its fall fundraiser to benefit its local programs. There will be a Steak & Burger dinner on Thursday, September 27thfrom 6pm-8pm at the Agriculture Building at the Louisiana State Fair Grounds.
