BOWIE COUNTY, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) – A man is behind bars for allegedly stealing several pieces of expensive farm equipment, according to investigators with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said they recovered about $86,000 worth of stolen items from Morris County land belonging to Justin Paul Cobb, 36. They said deputies were dispatched to the Naples, Texas, property in response to a GPS beacon attached to a recently stolen excavator.

Investigators said four of the pieces of equipment, including a trailer and tractor, were stolen from a ranch in Bowie County in December. Those items have been returned to the owner.

Cobb is being held in the Bi-State Jail.
