An east Texas man is accused of shooting his neighbor’s pet dog from his deer stand.

According to Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse, Russell Scott Trousdale claimed the dog was on his property, “eating corn and chasing deer”.

The investigation showed the pitbull mix was not on Trousdale’s property.

Deputies arrested Trousdale and charged him with cruelty to animals, non-livestock, which if found guilty of the crime, the charge is a felony that could result in three years in state prison.
