An East Texas mayor has declared a “State of Emergency” for his city after a possible tornado touched down Sunday night.
Winnsboro Mayor Richard R. Parrish says the western part of the city has sustained major damage.
There are reports of several structures without roofs, a tree has been thrown inside a house and a car wash has a wall that has been destroyed.
Anyone who is in need of shelter or assistance is asked to go to City Hall, located at 501 South Main Street, where a command post has been set up.

I’m working with the Texas Dept. of Emergency Management to ensure that Winnsboro, Texas has the assistance it needs to respond to this tornado. I haven’t heard of any injuries yet. Say a prayer that it stays that way. 🙏 #txlege @TDEM https://t.co/fJhfkImxan— Greg Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX) January 22, 2018
