Federal assessment teams second visit

People in Queensborough say they can not rebuild with out help from the government.

There are still trees down and some homes are still unlivable.

FEMA, Homeland Security, and the Small Business Association are assessing the damage at the request of Caddo Parish.

The goal is to get home owners individual assistance.

This is the second step in the process.

Many in this community say they can not afford insurance.

“We got people that are working over time and there are still trees in their house. We got people that went out and served our country and you know risking their lives and they are sleeping in a motel this week,” said Demetrius Norman.

Caddo Parish officials say if you have not reported any damages to call 2-1-1.

You can also call their office at (318) 675-2170.

The assessment teams will be in Bossier on Wednesday.
