An East Texas man was killed after his truck collided with another truck and caught fire.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., Wednesday, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to an accident on TX-149 in Panola County, between Beckville and Tatum.

The preliminary information indicates the driver of a truck-tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling north on TX-149, while the driver of a pickup truck was headed southbound on the same roadway.

The driver of the pickup, identified as Kedrick Tramaine Parker, 34, of Beckville, crossed over the center stripe into the path of the semi.

The impact caused the pickup to leave the roadway and catch fire.

Parker was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Toni Hughes.

His body was taken to Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home in Carthage.

The driver of the semi was transported taken to a local hospital and is stable.

The crash remains under investigation.
