An investigation has been launched following a Tuesday night fire at an El Dorado petroleum refining company.
According to a statement released Wednesday morning, the fire began inside a pump at Delek US Holdings’ refinery around 5:30 p.m.
The fire was extinguished by refinery employees.
“As the safety of employees and the community are our top priorities, we are relieved that no recordable injuries were reported,” says a spokesperson.
A full investigation has been launched, but the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The company states they are in the process of evaluating any damage to the refinery’s equipment and have been in regular contact with local and state authorities.
No off-site environmental impacts are anticipated but the company will continue the monitoring of ambient air as a precaution.
