Fire department rescues retired police captian after tree falls on his home


A retired Bossier City Police Captain is taken to the hospital after a tree falls on his home. His wife was inside the home as well.

The family of Tommy Black Sr. says he was standing in his garage looking at the weather when a tree in his back yard fell right where he was standing around 9 Sunday night. According to the family, Black was trapped and the fire department had to use saws to get him out.

A pool of water is at the root of the tree. The family believes it’s what caused it to fall. Black is released from the hospital.

Black’s truck in his driveway and his wife’s car that was in the garage are a total loss. The family believes the home is a total loss as well.
