The Nesbitt Fire Department said crews were called a little before 6:00 Thursday morning due to flooding. “We had a couple of people. three or four people stranded in the water,” said Assistant Fire Chief Daniel Butler. Butler said the flooding of Farm Market 9-68 and Highway 80 between Longview and Marshall was caused by the swelling of Cold Creek. “Our first priority was Highway 80. It was completely over the road about knee deep,” said Butler.
He said crews also had to monitor other roads that were in between flooded pastures. No injuries were reported. “Don’t drive through it. Because you’re endangering your first responders trying to get to you. Not only your life but other people. And someone sees you trying to drive through it they think it’s ok for them to drive through it,” said Butler.
Fire crews expect roads to be re-open and clear today.
