A high school football coach has been suspended after he was arrested late last night.
Fouke High school’s Rick Barker was arrested around 11 p.m. Thursday night on Highway 71 for misdemeanor public intoxication.
Fouke school officials said he had been driving in a school vehicle. School officials tells KTAL NBC 6 News that Barker has been suspended with pay.
Barker bonded out of the Miller County Jail around 3:00 a.m.
KTAL NBC 6 spoke with Coach Barker, and he said it was an accident and had no further comments.
