A Georgia man has been booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center after deputies say he fired shots on I-20.
The suspect, Lorenzo D. Stewart, age 33 of Lithia Springs, Ga. is charged with attempted second-degree murder.
On Friday, deputies say they responded to a report of a suspect shooting at a motorist on I-20 near Calhoun at approximately 2:45 p.m.
When officers arrived the victim told them several subjects on motorcycles were operating in a reckless manner traveling west on I-20 and had attempted to pass his vehicle and a second vehicle in the adjacent travel lane.
According to OPSO, the victim said the second vehicle slowed, allowing the motorcyclists to pass them.
Once the motorcycles had passed, they continued traveling for approximately one mile with the motorcycles in front of them.
One of the motorcycle drivers (the suspect) then abruptly slowed his motorcycle, almost causing the victim to have an accident.
The suspect allegedly then began following behind the victims vehicle, during which time the suspect fired several rounds from a handgun, striking the victims vehicle several times.
The victim was not injured. A description of the suspect and the motorcycle was given by the victim and witnesses to deputies and was relayed to local law enforcement agencies.
Stewart was apprehended on I-20 a short time later in Lincoln Parish. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time. The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police assisted in the investigation.
