Governor John Bel Edwards visits Shreveport highlighting the importance of small businesses the state. The governor was the keynote speaker at the Small Business Summit this morning.
He says small businesses helped advance the state’s recent economic growth.
Louisiana ranks second in the country for wage growth for the second quarter this year.
“We know that we had the most people working in our state ever in July and the second most in August so things are going much better for the state of Louisiana economically. Those small businessmen and women here today are a big part of that and so it’s just a great opportunity for me to come up and visit with them,” said Governor Edwards.
Louisiana Economic Secretary Don Pierson also spoke at the conference.
