Grand jury indicts 2 East Texas men for child sex crimes

Two East Texas men have been arrested after being indicted by a local grand jury for multiple crimes involving children.

According to Gregg County judicial records, Michael Thomas Sanches, 47, of Laneville, was arrested on Monday by the Rusk County Sheriff;s Office for the following offenses:

– 2 counts of sexual assault of a child

– 1 count of indecency with a child by sexual contact

The sexual assaults reportedly occurred on January 1, 2016, while the indecency incident allegedly happened on April 1, 2016.

The warrants were issued by the 124th District Court of Judge Alfonso Charles.

Sanches is being held in the Gregg County Jail. His bond has not been set.

Law enforcement also arrested Timothy Bynum Taylor, 28, of Longview, after being indicted for the following charges:

– 1 count of aggravated sexual assault of a child

– 1 count of indecency with a child by sexual contact

Taylor was arrested by the Gregg County Sheriff’s Office on warrants also issued by Judge Charles.

The incidents to which Taylor is reportedly connected occurred on May 24, 2015.

Taylor was booked into the Gregg County Jail. Bond has not been set.
