The Humane Society of North Texas assisted authorities on the negotiated release of 41 cats.
According to the HSNT, the property owners in Fort Worth negotiated the release as it appeared the cats were abandoned by a tenant who moved off their property.
Upon arrival the cats were found in an out-building with no electricity or running water.
All of the cats were confined to travel carriers or wire cages, and it appeared they had been living in these small enclosures for an extended period of time with rancid water, says the HSNT.
