Group raises money for Arkansas Children’s Hospital

KOOL and KPIG radio station is hosting a radiothon to help Circle of Friends, a non-profit group raise 10-thousand dollars.

Circle of Friends founder Dean Ransdell says, the proceeds will help Arkansas Children’s Hospital serve nearly 400 thousand children. She adds,”we just want to keep the word going and know that there are over three thousand kids that are served in this area at ACH every year.”

Listeners are so moved from the stories former and current patients are sharing. The phones are ringing off the hook from people wanting to make donations.

Former patient Sarah Coggs drank termite spray when she was two years old. She says, “it was heart breaking on me. I wouldn’t been in this world .”

Jaclyn West’s two year old son was born with several complications. She shares his progress,”he is rambunctious, he no longer has a feeding tube . He had an additional thumb, so that has been removed and it is just, he’s like a new kid.”

Volunteers say they are committed to giving back to the hospital. “I’m here to raise all the money I can to support them any and every way I can,” says Donna McLaughlin.
