Shreveport Police are continuing their investigation into a west Shreveport shooting incident that left a three-year-old boy injured late yesterday afternoon.
On August 4, 2018, just before 6:30 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to University Health Hospital, 1501 Kings Highway, on reports of a three-year-old arriving at the emergency room with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
Officers were told that the incident took place inside of a vehicle in the 2700 block of Murray Street. They responded to that location but were unable to locate the vehicle.
Detectives responded and launched their investigation. Multiple people were interviewed relative to the incident. As detectives were conducting interviews, 24-year-old Lacory Henry of the 7100 block of Wilshire Drive, arrived at University Health Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the anus.
Through witness interviews, detectives learned that Henry was connected to the shooting incident and allegedly removed evidence from the crime scene. He was charged with Obstruction of Justice and booked into the Shreveport City Jail following his release from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
