Highland Park Elementary fourth graders receive Weathernator Trophy

Local News

Todd Warren returned to Highland Park Elementary in Texarkana, TX this morning to present the fourth graders in Ms. Krafft’s class with this year’s Weathernator Trophy.  They competed against more than forty teams from nearly a dozen schools around the Arklatex in the Weathernator Forecasting Contest.

The contest took place during the month of February.  Teams provided daily forecasts that contained predictions on high temperatures, low temperatures, rain, and snow.  Those forecasts were graded and compared to others in the contest.  Teams provided forecasts for Shreveport during week one, for Texarkana during week two and for Concord, NH in week three.

Congratulations to Ms. Krafft and her students for winning this year’s competition.  Thanks to all teachers who gave their students the opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like to be a meteorologist.
