‘I’m a mom, first and foremost’

The race for Shreveport city council District B could get heated going down the stretch.

“District B is comprised of diverse neighborhoods,” said candidate LeVette Fuller. “They are diverse culturally, historically and economically. I am the person who understands all of those needs in that community.”

Fuller is running against Wendy Vance, who prides herself on wanting to make a difference for her two children.

“I’m a mom, first and foremost,” Vance said.”We’ve got to make our city feel like home again… who better to do that than a mom?”

Vance says she’s critical of Fuller for her lack of offspring. But, Vance believes that has nothing to do with their professional endeavors.

“It goes back to me being a mom,” Vance said. “She doesn’t have any children yet. I feel like I’m doing this for the most basic reason.”

“I think that she’s very passionate,” Fuller said. “I think she’s really frustrated with a lot of the issues that we have. I would like to hear more about her actual solutions about our community instead of her frustrations.”

You can make your choice at the polls on December 8th.
