TEXARKANA, Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) – The annual ‘Sparks in the Park’ event commemorating America’s Independence Day will go on this year, thanks in part to a local company.
Cooper Tire stepped in as a sponsor, matching last minute funding from the Advertising and Promotions Commission in Texarkana, Arkansas.
The event’s organizers just recently decided to cancel the event due to lack of funding. But now, planning for the patriotic event has resumed. “We want Texarkana to become a better and better and better place to live and work and be, and we want to grow the region. We need to have events like this. We need to have things that families can go out to enjoy as a community,” said Curtis Schneekloth, spokesman for Cooper Tire.
‘Sparks in the Park’ is set for Saturday, June 29 at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana, Arkansas. Admission is free of charge.
