It’s almost time for kids to go back to school! Thursday, some kids in Texarkana went shopping to get ready.
Dozens of kids were treated to a shopping spree at Academy Sports + Outdoors. The event is a partnership between the Salvation Army of Texarkana and the store.
Each child was excited to receive a hundred dollars in store credit to get what they need for school. Nicole Johnson said, “I’m shopping for a backpack and light up shoes!” Emanuel Bender added, “It’s fun to shop with my friends because we can help pick stuff out”
Academy Spokesman Michael Churchill said, “It’s just a wonderful experience for our associates as well.”
