KRMD Listener Appreciation Concert set for Saturday

Local News

The 101.1 KRMD Listener Appreciation Concert has been a Summer staple in the ArkLaTex for more than a quarter century and it returns Saturday night to the Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport.

This year’s free concert features country music stars Jerrod Niemann and Chase Bryant and is scheduled to begin at 7pm.

“The KRMD call letters have been around for 90 years and this event is our small way of saying thanks to our great listeners for their decades of support of this legendary radio station,” said Chip “The Fat Man” Arledge, program director of KRMD and Operations Manager for Cumulus of Shreveport/Bossier City.  “It’s great entertainment at a great price…free,” he added.

The free general admission tickets are available at a number of businesses in the Ark-La-Tex listed on the station’s website at KRMD.com.  But the station also offers a “VIP” package which guarantees a seat up front near the stage through the website as well.  “You’re going to need a ticket to get in,” The Fat Man said.  “So get yours now or it will cost you ten dollars at the door,” he added.

“There is no way we could bring two talented country music stars to a free event like this without our major sponsors including Greg Tilley Bossier Mobile Homes, G & C Honda and El Dorado Homes,” said The Fat Man.  “We thank them and all of our sponsors and hope our listeners do to,” he said.

“This is going to be a wonderful night of celebration of country music and the legacy of this great radio station and we hope everyone who wants to be there can do so,” he said.  “We’re gonna threaten the Hirsch with meltdown.”
