The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development closed the LA 527 bridge over Flat River near Taylortown Jan. 22 as they make piling repairs.

The closure was supposed to begin back on Jan. 11, but the inclement weather curtailed that.

LA DOTD says the work is expected to last approximately eight weeks, weather permitting. This bridge is located approximately 0.51 miles east of the junction of US 71.

Alternate Route: Total road closure. ALL vehicles must detour using US 71, I-20, LA 157, LA 527.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.

Additionally, Bossier deputies will continue to patrol the area to keep motorists safe.
