A local coach accused of kidnapping a woman in DeSoto Parish now sits behind bars.

Brian Young, 32, a coach at Natchitoches Central Jr. High School, was arrested after he allegedly abducted a woman near Mansfield last month.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 authorities responded to a call that involved an altercation that was witnessed in the parking lot of a business.

When deputies arrived they located an abandoned vehicle owned by a female employee who had not shown up for work that day.

Investigators also obtained the woman’s cell phone information.  After working with the cell phone provider deputies were able to locate the victim at Natchitoches Central Jr. High School.

Detectives later learned that the woman had been taken against her will and was being held by an abductor, later identified as Young.

Young was taken into custody by Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.  He was then transferred to the DeSoto Parish Detention Center where he was booked for Kidnapping and Domestic Violence.

The investigation into the incident is still on-going.
