A Texarkana company is paying special tribute to their employees who’ve served our country.
Cooper Tire and Rubber Company held a Veterans Day recognition ceremony today. Company officials said they make a point to hire veterans as employees, and currently 12 percent of their workforce are veterans.
“We’re very proud of the impact that it has on the community to employ veterans, so we feel like 12 percent is very good,” said Sheryl Porter, human resources manager for Cooper Tire.
The ceremony was a community event, featuring special patriotic music from Nash Elementary School’s “Voice of Leaders” choir.
This is the third year for the event.
