If you’re tired of seeing trash in your community, one group is challenging people to go out and pick-up litter.

The Geaux Green group is hosting their third annual ‘Geaux Green Family Volunteer Day’.

They took to Shreveport-Barksdale highway to pick-up trash on the side of the road.

Geaux Green is a world-wide event that was started by a Shreveport kid name Joey who is keeping the tradition alive.

“I’ve seen a lot of litter, but I really haven’t seen a lot of people go out and pick up, so I want to be that change to get people to realize you need to step and take care your Earth,”  organizer Joey Gouthiere said.

People as far away as Okinawa, Japan and India took part in the Geaux Green event, cleaning up around their homes.
