Local middle school is raising awareness on Bullying

Local

Cope Middle School will host different bullying and suicide prevention activities every Monday this month. During the school announcements today, they played a recording of students performing a song titled ‘Lets Be Friends’.
Seventh grader Keely Henry created the song and the lyrics included different examples of bullying. Keely and the precussion band put together the song. “Its a pretty happy song, I’m usually really excited to sing it but it kind of makes me feel sad that this sort of thing happens and it kind of makes me feel hopeful that maybe it might stop even if the song doesn’t end everything it might be a small step to help stop bullying in schools,” Keely said.
Keely says this was her creative way to kick off the bullying prevention month.
Along with wearing blue today students, will also have a crazy sock day, and tie day, where they can wear neck ties with their school uniforms, those are just some of the many things students will be doing this month.
